This robust pine cone was collected on top of a rocky outcrop in Squamish, BC near Shannon Falls.  Usually I rock climb my way to the top of the cliffs where these trees grow but this time, only having 1 hour to spare I quickly made the 250 meter acent to the top just to grab these little gems.  These cones have such distinct texture and detail, which make them quite different then your average pine cone.  This one is about an inch long and about 5/8th of an inch wide.  It comes on a 30" sterling silver chain.  If you like funky/heavier weighted jewelry this one is for you!
